Puzzles

These photos were taken about 2 weeks ago...
me fixing 2-piece puzzles.

tiak.

I call him "boomboomboom"

for gorilla.

Lion!

The lion was the most difficult for me to fix among the 4 animal puzzles in the box. but now I can fix them all with ease.

I just got started on 3-piece puzzles last night. I can do it but with a bit of difficulty.

Think I can move on to 4-pieces, 8-pieces and more!

Any1 has puzzles to pass on?

Out of the Pan with Mummy

Guess what's drawing my attention away from my cheese kueh?

I'm so excited I put my cheese kueh down!

haha!

o.....

ha!

It goes up this way...

Can you guess yet?

It's my favourite and I can say the word, "Fountian!"

We're at Out of the Pan.
I had make up Music class today. Mummy rushed from school to pick me up, go home to put down our bags and flew to music class so she's very hungry and decided to eat at Raffles City after the class. She was undecided as to which cafe to go to but I got all excited when I saw the fountian so the choice was clear.
You won't believe how many photos she took of me.
The angmo korkor at the other table was looking at her like thinking, "she must be crazy.
She's so excited about taking photos of me that she forget to take a photo of her food before she "destroys" it.
So there's only this blurry photo cos the camera phone cannot shot macro (or maybe she doesn't know how to).

some chicken crepe with beans trilogy: big red beans, chick peas and soya bean (or so Mummy thinks). of which, none I eat. When Mummy put them in my plate, I'll say "no, no, no." "bye!!" (yes, to the bean)

I only eat the chicken... and the crepe too.

ahh....

yum....

What kind of Math Teacher...

A page from Mummy's diary:

Sometime last week...

Was working out a sum on the board and made careless and silly mistake. When I pointed out the mistake to the class and corrected it, one student said (in a joking tone),"What kind of Maths Teacher are you?"

I answered, "I'm a tired Maths Teacher."

then the students said, " you're tired? rest lah, Teacher" "Go home and sleep," said another.

well... I am tired. I guess all teachers are tired. too many things, too little time. and I'm on 3/4 load. Can you imagine a full-load teacher?

I'm counting down on to the March Holis!

Mop

oo... I have to mop the floor.

Here's the slave-driver.

mop...

mop...

can you see what I've found?

ha. no lah, Mummy didn't make me mop "the floor".

The aircon men came to service our aircon and Mummy had to clean her bed after they left. I wanteda do housework with her and willingly mopped the bed together.

The Boogie Bug and other Dance classes

Sat.

Went for a trial class for The Boogie Bug Music and Movement Program.

It's a new class for 18 months to 2.5 year-o-s.

venue: Dance on Us near Scotts Road. click for directions.
Mummy's not sure if it's ok to take pictures so she only took 3 on her camera phone.
I was mesmerised by this Hour-glass-like Maracas. Somebody please tell me the proper name of it.

The boy next to me is my 17-month old cousin. Oh gosh, he's the same size as me.

Me playing drum.

From the last 2 photos, you can see that the Mummies are having fun too.

We did lotsa fun action songs with guitar accompliment (Much Much more fun than music CD most other schools use).

I love th guitar.

It was really great fun and I enjoyed it very much. Sadly, Mummy's not bring me back cos she said it's not what she's looking for. She's looking for more of a Dance class cos I love to sing and dance to music. She wants to ride on my interest while it lasts. As for music, she's happy with Seimpi as they also do music theory which is needed for formal music training.

Other dance classes Mummy's looking at

2. Bill's Kid-Danz

New class for 2 to 3 year olds. Fri 4pm.

venue: Dance on Us near Scotts Road. click for directions.

as it's on a weekday (Fri), Mummy can't find enough kids to start the class. Any1 interested, please drop us a note.

3. Dance Babes (2 - 3 yr) at Jitterbugs Swingapore

Good boy, bad boy 2

This is Hann's mummy writing. 1st time using handwrite input on my tablet PC.

Thursday.

Fetch Hann early from school to bring him for his immunization and blood test (see previous post for reasons). As it was my last day of the week, I had quite a lot of things to bring home. plus Hann's schoolbag , there was a lox of things to carry.

(Argh.. I give up. It's faster to type)

When we reached TMC, I told Hann that I had many bags to carry and he had to walk on this own. and he did.

We reached TMC at around 4.45 only to realised that Dr Keoy (Hann's regular PD) is not around that afternoon. The nurse told us to come back at 6.30 and to go to the other "side" to get our No.1. The nurse at the other side then persuaded us to see another doctor who is available at that time so that we can make it in time for the blood test (Lab charges extra if test done after 5pm)

I reluctantly agreed.

sigh.. in the end we still didn't make it in time for the blood test cos there's the nurse who insisted on taking Hann's height and weight before passing his card to the doc. and Hann refused to cooperate.

Finally, when all's done, it was past 5. Doc said Hann has Hep B antibodies so he's safe and doesn't need the test. but she's not pro-breastfeeding. She said, "so old already can stop. the nutrients are not much." Felt like walking out at this point and regret seeing her. If not for her going to poke my son's butt in a minute's time, I'll tell her to brush up on her knowledge on breastfeeding.

Breastmilk and Breastfeeding IS still good after the 1st 6 months!

Breastfeeding your toddler can provide:
31% of his daily energy needs,
38% of protein requirements,
45% of Vitamin A requirements, and
95% of Vitamin C needs.
Source: WHO/CDR/93.4

While waiting for Hann's medicine, there's this boy (I'll call him the Bad Boy from this point forth) who's half a head taller than Hann and looks 3 years old. Hann was just standing there doing nothing and the next moment, Bad Boy came and push Hann's shoulders, causing him to fall backwards onto the ground and hit his head at the back. Oh boy! it was a hard fall. I dashed to pick Hann up but it was too late. He fell, he knocked his head and he's crying very badly. I felt like slapping Bad Boy.

The Mum came and apologised. She said she saw it and it was a bad fall. yah. so?

I dunno. how should one react in this situation? Boy is ignorant, Mum alpologised, what else? Nothing. so I just kept quiet and continued rubbing Hann's head (he's still crying).

Then the Mum made Bad Boy apologise to Hann. Hann's face was turned away from him so I said, "Hann, turn here, Korkor wants to say sorry."

and you know what? the poor boy, Hann that is, still crying, said "sorry" to the Bad Boy! oh man, I was angry and I said sternly, "No! Hann don't say sorry. Korkor pushed you, HE say sorry to you!" and Hann said "sorry" again! still crying. sigh... I dunno what to do. and at that point, I wonder if I'm too harsh on Bad Boy, on Bad Boy's Mum, or was I rude. but I didn't care. and deep in my heart, I wanted the Mum to beat Bad Boy. She didn't. She scolded him, call him "naughty", grounded him to a spot.

Man, do I regret not waiting for Dr Keoy and seeing Dr Ang AT.

Hann, you are too kind. Stand up for yourself and don't be a push-over. no pun intended.

Good boy, Bad boy.

Mummy thinks I've been a good boy these 2 days (Yesterday and Thursday).

Yesterday, Mummy had to go for her thyriod check up and she had to bring me along cos
1. I was having fever from Thursday's jab (more about that later) and stayed at home with her.
2. Mummy wanted me to do a blood test as well. to check for Hepatitis (since my MahMah past away with liver cancer) and for thyriod disorder (cos I'm eating so much and all the time).

Oh well, in the end, Dr Kevin said I doesn't have to do the blood test after checking my neck.

I am a good boy.

From stepping out of the door, I walked to the lift then to the carpark on my own. when we reach the carpark, Mummy will carry me to cross the roads.

When we reached the main road, I said, "taxi, taxi."

Mummy replied, "oh no, we're not taking the taxi. Taxis are very expensive now. Mummy doesn't have money. Hann have Money?"

I answered, "No."

"So we can't take taxi, we'll take the MRT. Hann like MRT?"

"Yes."

On the way to the MRT, I didn't walk though. Mummy carried me.

We were blessed by an uncle who gave up his seat for us in the MRT. I was good and sat quietly on Mummy lap, observing the children sitting opposite me.

While in Dr Kevin's clinic, I sat on the chair next to Mummy, ate my bread quietly and watch the mini fountain on Doc's table. When the nurse draw blood for Mummy, I stood at the side and watched and gave Mummy support. It can be quite painful, you know? but the nurses at Dr Kevin's are really skillful and nice so the pain is minimised.

On the way home, Mummy pointed to the plaster on her arm and told me that she can't carry me so I walk all the way.

My ABC

I've been on Vegetable Alphabets Pasta for as long as I can remember.
They're 60% whole grain (means healthy I reckon), easyto cook, small enough and yummy for me.
We used to be able to get them at NTUCs but recently, I finished my last packet and can't find them in NTUCs anymore. We checked a few.
Finally, Mummy decided to check out the "organic" shops.
We went to United Square and found the Alphabets Pasta in both the Organic Shops there.
but it comes in a different packaging from those in NTUC.
Mummy wonders why people want to pack pastas in cardboard boxes rather than in plastic bags, won't them spoil easily?
I'm just happy that I can eat my ABCs again.
Pss... VitaKids at Level 2 is selling it 80cents cheaper than Just Wholefood (B1).

Valentine's Day

Yesterday, I celebrated Valentine's Day with Papa and Mummy.

They have this tradition that every Valentine's Day, they will have dinner at Delifrance.

but I think that's gonna change from this year onwards.

Well... It all started two years ago when I was still in Mummy's tummy.

As tradition, they went to Delifrance at Junction8.

They just started their hot food menu then and was not prepared for the large crowd during Valentine's Day. The place was packed and they were under-staffed. Service, if any at all, was really slow. we waited 2 hours before their food was served!

This time round, my parents decided to go to a more "ulu" Delifrance at Novena Square.

Unfortunately, they were also understaffed.

They took 12 minutes and several reminders before they clean up our table.

Papa waited 1/2 an hour for them to serve the food and decided that was it and we left Delifrance.

"Where's my rice?"

Picture taken in Delifance while waiting.

oh well... in the end, it was a blessing in disguise, cos we endup up in Take 5 in Square2 and I got to eat their yummy Stew beef Rice. It's cheaper than Delifrance too!

See you next Valentine's Day, Take5!

My art works

Catching with some sleep.
Can you guess what I made?

oo... can you see better now?

Yup. It's a fish!

Mummy told me to stick the fish's eyeball (cut out from the drinks' barcode sticker) within the circle she draw for its eye. and I did!

The moon is cut by Mummy to teach me the word "moon", and the chinese characters "yue liang". Me dunno howta get the chinese input using Windows Vista.

She also made a star but I lost it.

this is "Mr Sun" I made with Mummy. there's a little handle behind so that I can carry it and show to to everybody at the wake.

inspiration from Dash.

At the wake

I spend 4 full days at MahMah's (my Grandma) wake.

The 1st time papa bring me see MahMah in her special "bed", with some visitors, I said, "MahMah sleeping". Every now and then, I will request Mummy to bring me to see MahMah. I like to see her sleeping in her special bed. but sometimes, I feel a little frightened when I see her.

Despite the long hours there (we usually go home after 11pm), I generally behaved well and my duty there include serving packet drinks, helping to put new plastic table "cloth" on the tables and entertaining guests.

When there are no visitors in the afternoons, I will do some art work with Mummy. check out the next post for my artworks. I also go to the playground next to MahMah's block.
I ate a lot those 4 days. almost non-stop. I ate bread, cake, cheerios, on top of my usual meals.
that's why I've grown fatter. Can you tell from the photos?

Me drinking.

Me entertaining Guest.

Actually it's more like the Guest entertain me.

The person sharing his PDA with me is actually my distant cousin. He is more than 30 years old. Mummy said don't anyhow put people's photo on the net hence his head is "chopped" off.

Doraemon kidnapped.

haha. no lah. This picture is taken in MahMah's house.

My uncle bought this plastic doraemon for me upon hearing that I can't bring my soft toy doraemon to school. but I was afraid of it. According to my MahMah, it's because it has a big red mouth. so she taped its mouth. and true enough, i'm not afraid of it anymore. in fact I love it.

MahMah, thank you for your love. Byebye for now. Pray that we will meet in Heaven.

1st real wake

My parental Grandma past away yesterday.

It's going to be the 1st real wake I'm attending.
Sure, I've been to a wake and a memorial service. but this is the 1st "real" one to me. I'll be staying there the whole time.

I miss my Grandma.
Yesterday at the hospital, I saw everybody sitting at the visitors' place, I named them one by one and found my Grandma missing.

It was my 1st time using the water bottle she bought for me yesterday. I love the water bottle and finished the entire bottle of water. If you know me, I don't fancy drinking plain water. but she couldn't see me enjoying the bottle.

I miss the "water egg" she cooks for me. I miss all the nice toys she gets for me. I miss her trying to amuse me. I miss her.

Art and Craft

Papa and Mama didn't go to work today so I get to stay at home.
In the morning, Mama brought me to Zoophonics School.
We did 3 pieces of Art Work there. Too bad Mummy didn't bring her Camera.
Art Work 1: Pasting colourful and shiny Fish scales on a printed fish.
This is a follow up after the "Rainbow Fish" story.
Art Work 2: Use toothbrush to brush white paint (toothpaste) on printed teeth.
follow up after the "I can brush my teeth" Chinese story.
Art Work 2: Making a lantern.
the paper was precut. we just had to stick on the fuzzy crep paper and use toilet roll to stamp glitters onto the paper as patterns.
At the end of the day, Mummy found glitters in my nostrils. Perhaps it's not so suitable for yound children.
In the evening, I found the tubs finger paint at home so Mummy allowed me to do stamping with them.
This is a duck-shaped bench toy which we used as a stamp.

ah... toilet roll. just like what we did in class today.

Mummy thought it's quite clever. just use and throw. don't need to wash unlike the "duck".

Look at my hands.

This is caused by the "duck". if you just use the toilet roll, your hands can be quite clean.

I don't like to be dirty.
